Project status & operator information

Sovereign Workspace is currently in formation. No legal entity has been registered yet. Full operator identification, registered address, managing director, trade register number, and VAT ID will be published on this page upon incorporation — planned once pilot commitments justify forming the company.

Project operator

Sovereign Workspace is operated as a pre-incorporation project by a small team currently based in Switzerland and Singapore, with a German contributor. No legal entity exists between us yet. Individual names and a registered address will appear here as part of the incorporation paperwork.

We have chosen to keep operator disclosure minimal at this stage. The reason is simple: we do not yet sell anything, we do not yet process customer data, and naming individuals on a commercial imprint before the commercial entity exists would be misleading. When there is a company, you will see the company.

Company structure — in formation

  • No legal entity yet. A limited-liability form (German UG (haftungsbeschränkt), GmbH, Swiss GmbH, or an equivalent EU legal form) will be registered once signed pilot commitments justify incorporation.
  • No money changes hands. The community workspace is free to use, with the intention of releasing it as open source once licensing is finalised at incorporation (EUPL-1.2 is the leading candidate). Until the entity exists to sign invoices and data processing agreements, no invoices are issued and no contracts are executed.
  • No customer personal data processed by the project. The product is self-hosted — customers run the workspace on their own infrastructure and are themselves the data controllers. Nothing on the demo server represents real customer data.
  • Honest update cadence. When the legal entity is formed, this page gains a proper Diensteanbieter section with full statutory disclosure under § 5 TMG. Until then, what you see here is what there is.

About this page and German TMG § 5

Sovereign Workspace has no establishment in Germany, so German Telemediengesetz § 5 does not strictly apply to the project at this pre-incorporation stage. This page is provided voluntarily in the spirit of EU consumer transparency and the expectations of the German-speaking audience we hope to serve. A full § 5 TMG Impressum will replace this page once a German or EU-established legal entity is registered.

Pilot partners welcome

We are actively seeking pilot customers for non-critical workloads.

If your organisation runs an internal wiki, a project space, a non-core collaboration workflow, or a team of volunteers who currently rely on a patchwork of US SaaS — we would like to talk. A pilot deployment gives you a sovereign European workspace at zero cost, and gives us the market evidence we need to incorporate and build a commercial tier.

We will not ask a pilot partner to run payroll, client billing, or anything else where downtime is a crisis. Pilots are explicitly for the non-critical 20% of your digital estate — the part where "it worked, and if it hadn't, we'd have coped."
