Trial terms

Version 2026-10-10

These terms apply when you get a free trial licence for swServer or swCollab in your customer account at account.sovereignworkspace.org. You accept them on the trial form. In short: the trial is free, it is for testing only, and the software comes as is, without any warranty.

1. Who gives you the licence

The licence is given by Sovereign Workspace ("we"). Sovereign Workspace is not yet a registered company (see the Impressum). When the Swiss company is registered, it takes over these terms.

2. What you get

  • A free, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to install and use the product named in the trial licence on the one server named in it.
  • For 30 days from the day the licence is issued.
  • For up to 25 users and 100 GB of files.
  • For testing and evaluation only.

3. What you must not do

  • Use the trial for production work, or keep data on it that you cannot afford to lose.
  • Store personal data of other people on it, except test data that you are allowed to use.
  • Sell, rent, lend or pass on the software or the trial licence.
  • Change, work around or disable the licence check.

4. No warranty

The software is a beta. We provide it free of charge, as is and as available, with all its faults. We give no warranty of any kind, express or implied. In particular, we do not promise that the software works without errors or interruptions, that it is fit for a particular purpose, or that it keeps your data safe. We do not promise support, updates or fixes during the trial.

5. Liability

As far as the law permits, we are not liable for any damage that comes from the trial or from the use of the software. This includes lost data, lost profit and interrupted business. This does not limit our liability for damage that we cause on purpose or by gross negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

6. Your data and your server

The software runs on your server. You are responsible for that server, its security and its backups. The licence is checked on your server, without contacting us. What we store about your account and your trials is described in our privacy policy.

7. When the trial ends

After 30 days the licence expires and the software becomes read-only: you can still read and export your data, but you cannot change it. We do not promise that a paid licence or a later version will be available, or that your test data can be moved to it.

8. Feedback

If you send us bug reports, ideas or other feedback, we may use them freely and without paying you.

9. Changes and the end of the programme

We may change these terms or end the trial programme at any time. A trial you already have keeps the terms version you accepted, which is stored with it.

10. Applicable law

These terms are subject to Swiss law, without the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
